GLADIATORS BOXING ACADEMY
For any business, there’s always an extra sense of achievement and reward when you can share your success with an important cause.
For Northern Land Agency, that cause is the Gladiators Boxing Academy in Huddersfield.
Run as a not-for-profit organisation, GBA is home to some of the brightest young boxing talent in the country. But equally important, it actively engages with the local community to tackle areas including crime reduction, social isolation, employability skills, gang culture, and generally improving health and wellbeing.
Today, its young boxers continue to showcase how the dedicated help of coaches and sponsors alike can change lives, hone skills and lead to a huge sense of self-fulfilment for boys and girls alike.
For NLA, being involved in GBA’s sponsorship programme is an absolute pleasure. Our link helps pay the considerable travel expenses involved to compete in bouts and championships across the UK. It also helps with the club’s many outgoings and with buying and maintaining the health and safety equipment that makes the club open to as many participants as possible.
Making a difference is reward enough. But for NLA, we’re especially proud that four of the boxers we currently sponsor are doing so well, becoming finalists in major championships, winning medals, belts and titles and, in two cases already, representing England at international level.

Sandrino started boxing at 13, in 2016, quickly advancing through squad sessions to make his debut bout in 2017. Today, competing against some of the best boxers in the country, he’s won numerous championships, cups and medals and is the current Yorkshire Elite Belt Holder.
Manny Tanvir
Manny was the very first boxer to represent Gladiators when he took part in his first skills contest at the tender age of 10. Now, 10 years on, his exceptional talent has helped him pick up titles at regional and national level, including being 2017’s National Junior Champion.
Chrissace Mendez
Making his debut for the club prior to lockdown, Chrissace returned to action when restrictions were lifted, finding his true form at his natural weight of 70kg and going on to represent his country, reach the finals of the Junior Championships and GB Tri-Nations, and now pick up the National Youth title
Olena
Barely into double figures for bouts, Olena is already a multiple title winner and England representative. From a proud boxing family – her father, Eugene, won numerous amateur and professional titles in England and Ireland – Olena is building on her growing resume…and advancing quickly!
